“We doubled last years’ numbers, online sales are growing, we are getting more and more requests from online and brick-and-mortar stores, catalogs” and other outlets, declared Julia Abasova, who with partner Rena Abramoff, owns the company.

Bandelettes, which look like extra wide garters or perhaps decorated stockings with the legs removed, may seem an unlikely solutions product to some. But the rising sales numbers prove they fill an important consumer need. “We launched our website in April of 2013 and by the end of 2013 we sold more than 12,000 pairs,” claimed Abasova. “In 2014 we tripled our sales and got a few wholesale accounts in US and overseas. Sales in the second year rocketed so rapidly that we ran our of stock before the season started, so we had to urgently produce more in order to cover the demand.”

A strong component of the product’s success has been its acceptance by a broad spectrum of retailers. “We got a large online UK lingerie retailer, a very large online U.S. store selling clothing for women and kids. We are about to start working with a very large footwear catalog.”

Abasova emphasized that Bandelettes appeal to a wide variety of consumers as well. “We offer many styles and colors, covering almost all sizes from size 2 up to 22, meaning both regular size and plus size customers are covered. Bandelettes could be sold in lingerie, clothing, footwear stores. The retail price is affordable for average customers.” On the Bandelettes website a variety of styles are offered, ranging in retail price from $10.99 to $15.99.

“Bandelettes offer an attractive solution for one of the common women’s problem — thigh chafing,” Abasova continued. “Rarely discussed, thigh chafing affects millions of women with extra weight, slim and fit women who have “no thigh gap” body structure or developed muscular thighs due to the sport activities.
