(Filed Under wholesale Activewear News). Increasing its emphasis on the sports bra category, Victoria’s Secret recently introduced yet another style, this a patent-pending front close bra called Knockout.
The bra is really two bras in one: the wearer clicks shut the inner, front close bra, then enfolds that bra in an outer layer that also zips and locks in front.
“This bra, which incorporates patented technology for superior support and performance, is another example of how Victoria’s Secret continues to deliver innovation and newness to our customers,” declared Sharen Jester Turney, president and CEO of Victoria’s Secret in the product announcement.
During a recent conference call on parent company L Brands first quarter financial results, Turney emphasized her enthusiasm for the category as a whole. “We’re excited about our sport business, and as you know, we rolled sport bras to all stores in the fall season, and it has continued to exceed our expectation. We only have our full assortment in about 80 stores right now from a sport perspective. We think that there’s a huge opportunity not only in the store channel but as well as in the direct channel.”
On the Victoria’s Secret website the Knockout announcement reads, “It’s all about the patent-pending front closure. Click, zip and lock it into place and get maximum support, maximum on-and-off ease. We thought of all that and more—a concealed underwire for cushioned support, adjustable padded straps and Body-Wick to keep you cool and dry. Perfect for running, boxing and other high-impact workouts!”
The bra is available in sizes 32 to 40, B-DDD, in three levels of support. Three levels of padding are available: unlined, lightly padded and push-up. Colors offered include white, grey, black, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, multi colored, striped, a print and a floral pattern. Retail prices start at $54.50.
