(Filed Under wholesale Men's Underwear News). When Whittall & Shon’s sales manager, Charlaine Bivens, saw their newest novelty styles, she wasn’t sure how customers would react.
However, according to her the customers are “really going for” the superhero-inspired bikini bathing suit, which wholesales at $16.50 and retails between $35 and $40. Additionally, their new line of tank tops, which includes a Mexican Wrestler, Polynesian theme, and a design inspired by the Joker character in “Batman” is also very popular. It runs at respective wholesale and retail prices of $12 and $30 in shades of red, navy, black and white. Both the tanks and the bikini run in sizes S to XL, and were launched this February. The company is currently shipping them to retailers.
“We normally sell a lot of basics, and these are very glitzy items that are embellished with beads and brightly colored, so I was wary of the customer response,” Bivens said. “But it seems like everyone is going away with at least the bikini and the Mexican wrestler, even if everything else they buy is basic.”
Buyer at the Injeanious stores in San Francisco, California, Woody Evans, has purchased the tank top line and the bathing suit.
“I have been buying from Whittall & Shon for years, and their products always do quite well,” Evan said. “Their basics are always popular, and their fashion pieces really punch up the brand and appeal to my client base of young, fashion-forward men.”
Whittall & Shon is a men’s swimwear and apparel company based in New York City and shipped out of Miami. For further information, call (212) 594-2626.
