Heaven Scent is a line apparel to which various scents have been applied, — pants, shirts, tank tops, lace camis, sweatshirts, shorts and, yes, intimate apparel. What you smell ranges from “flowers, perfumes, candies, fruit, even marijuana” according to Monika Casillas, creative director, who was showing the lingerie portion of the collection — which, according to her, makes up about 60% of the total — at the recent International Lingerie Show in Las Vegas (ILS).

“My boyfriend had the idea,” said Casillas referring to owner Daniel Kachlon, who had previous experience producing screen printed T shirts, made in Mexico, some of which were scented. “He was working in the shirts and had the idea of using it in panties and lingerie.” All 54 styles of panties and bandeau bras are currently made in Mexico and shipped to retailers from Los Angeles. They are also sold on the company’s website.

The line includes “mini cheekies, cheekies, thongs, bikinis, boy shorts,” sports bras and other silhouettes, all bearing a variety of prints (it is in the printing where the scents are applied), laces and various fabrics. Often the colors in the printed portion of a panty are paired with lace in the same color. The pieces are designed to “mix and match.” Retail prices range from $10 to $15.50 and the firm was offering panties for around $6 wholesale at the ILS.

And at the ILS Casillas said she got orders from such companies as Yandy, Adam and Eve, Rue 21 and others.

The collection was launched about a year and a half ago, with sales to retailers starting about a year ago, according to Casillas. The only trade shows the firm has attended so far are the past two ILS events.

The line is “cute and sexy at the same time,” said Casillas. “You can feel it, smell it and feel comfortable and sexy.” The garments are sealed in individual packs, and Casillas claimed the scent lasts in the garments for “10 washes” (unscented detergent is recommended). “After that you have a really nice pair of panties. The quality and styles are really great. The graphics we change every season.”

Joining Casillas at the ILS was sales manger Darren Mitchell.

“You will not believe how real and strong the scent is!” the firm emphasizes on its website. “Our scent is featured in the print, it is water based and is 100% safe. It has been shown in studies that: scent has the power to evoke emotions, evoke long lost memories and change people’s moods…Our scents have exceeded the current regulations set forth by the federal government, so it is safe to use.”
