(Filed Under wholesale Plus Size News). Lingerie brand Black Fuchsia reported a dramatic response so far this year to its “plus size sexy sleepwear,” with the pace of sales double what they were last year and with “90 to 95 per cent sell-throughs on everything” according to the firm’s Elie Zaccai.

While all lingerie sales for the company have been expanding rapidly over the past year, plus size sleepwear is a particularly bright spot. “Our plus size has even been outselling our regular sizes in some cases.”

Black Fuchsia has offered plus versions of many of its styles for some time, and continues to expand the offerings. Zaccai attributed much of his success in the category to the fact “that we are definitely a better quality product,” than many competitors.

Another reason for success: the line appeals to a broad range of stores and price points. While some sets in the line can be retailed by discounters at as low as $12.99, the quality in the collection allows other stores to offer certain styles (with greater margins for stores) at $29.99 or $39.99.

“We are trying to incorporate more fun and comfort with sexy,” explained lead designer Yelena Plotkin, emphasizing she is including “more fashion details and a better fit” in the plus line. Her overall goal: “To give a plus size customer the same items that a regular size customer can get that are not available in the market.”
