(Filed Under wholesale Lingerie News). The comment that “the majority of women are not wearing a bra that fits correctly” has become the most-repeated cliche in the industry, and now Triumph has announced its own marketing campaign, “Stand Up for Fit” to address the issue.
The company (a privately-held intimates producer founded in Germany 125 years ago, with annual sales in 2010 of 2.2 billion Swiss francs, roughly $2.3 billion), announced that it has recently done its own, worldwide survey of 10,000 women after it “discovered there were a surprisingly high number of online searches each month on issues around bra size.” No surprise to most of us that the survey revealed “over 76% of these women admitted to wearing the wrong bra size.”
The new campaign is “a brand commitment to fit over 100,000 women worldwide, and educate them on the importance of getting the correct fit” which includes an “online fit guide” and “a free in-store service to advise and support. Consumers can either book an appointment online or drop in to receive a personal fitting with expert store advisors.”
Other statistics from the survey: “An average 30% of women had never been for a proper bra fitting and reasons for this included lack of knowledge of where or how to find the service. Interestingly women in Italy were amongst the highest percentage of women to have received a fitting in the last six months with 64%, followed by France with 42% and closely followed by UK and US with 35% and Germany with 25%.”
