(Filed Under wholesale Activewear News). Shapeez, the company that produces an expanding collection of back smoothing bras and shaping silhouettes, all of which contain a “real” bra within, has just created its first sports bra, the Sportee.

According to David Berner, vice president and CFO, it is “a bounce free, back smoothing sports bra made from moisture wicking mesh fabric that feels amazingly comfortable without binding and keeps the girls firmly supported during any athletic sport or activity.”

“It provides the performance you expect from a well made sports bra, but also includes the back smoothing features that customers have come to expect from Shapeez,” added the company’s Staci Berner. One of the most welcome features is the unwire, molded bra cups which “eliminates the typical UNIBOOB look you get from a traditional sports bra, plus the smooth back design creates a bulge free look underneath workout tops. “The design and details of the Sportee make it look like part of your gym outfit, not something alien.”

The Sportee is constructed of moisture wicking Nylon Lycra mesh, and comes in white or black. Sizing is Small-A to Large-DD. The new bra is designed to retail for $$79 and wholesale pricing is $39.50.

“The bra takes us into a whole new space,” emphasized David Berner, adding that it was designed to conform with the basic Shapeez philosophy. “The original concept was to offer women an all-in–one garment that didn’t solve one problem and create another. We wanted a garment that had full support without bands or closures making it nearly invisible under clothing. The Sportee lives up to these goals, and now allows our customers to stay with Shapeez, even when she is in the gym. It also allows us to bring our products to a whole new category of retailers.”

The CFO pointed out that some companies have been introducing sport bras that “really exist in name only. They have a nice athletic look to them, but they are not constructed with a real bra at the core. So they really can’t function in the gym or on the jogging path. On the other hand, there are some good, traditional sports bras out there. But since they do not have our patented smooth back design, they show all the bra lines and bulges. They negatively alter a woman’s body and make her look heavier than she is. That’s certainly not the look women are going for when they are at a sports club or working out in the park!”
