Sculptz To Transform Business Model


(Filed Under wholesale Shapewear News). Pennsylvania-headquartered Sculptz Shapewear, a hosiery shapewear brand manufactured in the U.S. by HCI Direct, Inc., has announced it is in the process of transforming its business model to multi-channel, including retail, web and DRTV.

The company recently launched on QVC this January after enjoying success in direct mail for six years. According to Jean Vernor, president and CEO at HCI Direct, Inc., the company is in discussions with a number of national and global retailers who are interested in carrying the line.

The company’s current collection is made from a specially engineered nylon and spandex blend. The products “are designed with special sculpting panels to accent a woman’s natural curves, so she looks good and feels confident,” said Vernor. “Special positioning devices and sensor technology borrowed from the medical industry ensure consistency of panty length and identical placement of the run guard on each leg. Because we run our knitting machines at half the speed (not at 1500 rpm, but 750) the yarn doesn’t get damaged or nicked, making it less susceptible to runs.”

The collection has three styles available in six colors. The Sculptz Shorts, which retails at $22, and the Sculptz Sheers ($23 retail) are available in nude and black. The Sculptz Tights ($25 retail) are available in plum, grey, black and brown. All styles are available in sizes A through E, the equivalent of small through XXL. Wholesale prices vary depending on the size of the order.

In additional news, Vernor stated the company is hoping to double and maybe even triple their sales, she said. “It’s a cost effective way to update your look and women tend to indulge in small purchases in a down economy,” she said.

“Sculptz Shapewear gives women a quality product and a cost effective way to update their wardrobe without having to buy a whole new outfit.”
