The event provides funds for pediatric services at Rusk and Tisch Hospital, part of the Hassenfeld Pediatric Center at NYU Langone. “We’re very excited about this year’s H.U.G. Gala,” declared club president Michael De Prisco in the announcement. “We have a terrific slate of honorees who represent top talent in different areas of the intimate apparel industry and a wonderful emcee who brings the elegance of Josephine Baker’s legacy to our Jazz Era theme.” Dancer Josephine Baker’s son Jean-Claude Baker, owner of Chez Josephine, will serve as the emcee.

According to the announcement, “the H.U.G. Gala has raised more than $5 million for programs at Rusk and Tisch. The Square Club was founded in1955 “with the mission of uniting professionals in intimate apparel and related industries as a charitable organization and to participate in activities that reflect positively on the membership...[which] includes management executives, designers and salespeople, among other professionals.
