(Filed Under wholesale Costume News). Rubie’s Costume Company Inc. named Stephen Stanley as the company’s new managing director of licensing and business development. According to the firm, “Stanley comes to Rubie’s with over 20 years of experience in the licensing industry, most recently as the senior vice president of global licensing at Jakks Pacific.”
Rubie’s also noted that Stanley previously “served as copresident of costume-maker Disguise Inc. Having started his career with Hasbro Toys, Stanley has an extensive knowledge of and commitment to brand management in both the Halloween and toy industries.”
In this “newly created position,” Stanley is based at Rubie’s headquarters in Melville, NY and “will report directly to Rubie’s executive vice president, Howard Beige. Overseeing projects for 2013 and beyond, Stanley will play a critical role in the development and growth of the company’s exclusively licensed product lines.”
Beige declared, “We are thrilled to welcome Stephen into the Rubie’s family! Not only is he extremely talented, he is well respected by his peers and colleagues and will be an incredible asset to our licensing business. It’s exciting to have someone of his caliber join our team.”
Rubie’s says it is “the world’s largest manufacturer of Halloween costumes and accessories,” explaining that it “specializes in the creation, design, manufacturing, and distribution of costumes, make-up, wigs, masks, hats, prosthetics, and accessory items,” adding that its products are “distributed wherever Halloween and masquerade costumes are retailed, including national retail chains, toy stores, costume shops, variety stores, party stores, and other specialty retailers located throughout the United States, as well as in Canada, Europe, Latin and South America, Australia, and Asia.”
