(Filed Under Wholesale Swimwear News). Espiral recently mailed its largest catalog ever for its swim and resort collection, AM:PM by Espiral. This year’s edition totaled 202 pages plus the covers. Last year it was 146 pages plus covers.
AM:PM contains the full range of apparel a woman would wear on vacation at a tropical resort: casual sportswear, swimwear, cover-ups, day dresses and a large variety of clubwear and dresses for dinner and dancing at night. Co-owner Angela Escobar emphasized that Espiral is looking to market the line in a different direction than the original, much sexier, Espiral collection. “We keep them separated,” she said, adding “we are going to start doing more trade shows for the resort wear.” The Miami swim show is one of those she is adding this year.
The new AM:PM catalog ”is a bigger and better version of the previous catalog,” with greater representation in all categories. One area that has received particular emphasis this year: pareos, casual wraparound skirts. Swimwear in the collection retails for $30 and up, cover-ups for $20 and up and dresses from $30. Explaining the difference between an AM:PM dress and a sexier and more revealing Espiral evening dress, Escobar declared, “Every girl can wear the AM PM dresses. The cleavage is not huge and the dress are not too short.”
In other company news, Espiral has just signed a distributor for Italy: Fifty-6, a firm that also handles Ellie Shoes and Music Legs in that country. On hand to introduce himself at the firm’s booth at the most recent International Lingerie Show in Las Vegas, owner Daniel Willi. Currently Espiral has distributors in several European countries, although not in the UK. It is also sold extensively in South America as well as in Mexico.
