Born from her long and ongoing experience operating a high end lingerie shop on Nantucket, creative director Marissa Fondot two years ago launched Marie Bella, a small line of panties and sleepwear which she exhibited for the first time at Curve in Las Vegas. The intimates are already sold in her store, Ladybird Lingerie, as well as a limited number of other shops.

Now Fondot is looking to find more retail outlets for her label, one that she says emphasizes comfort over all else.

As it was presented at Curve, the Marie Bella collection contained two babydolls, a robe, two chemises and four panties, all available in various colors and standard sizing of P/S, S/M and M/L. All are produced in China and Colombia.

The Fleurette Babydoll in 95% modal and 5% spandex, wholesales for $28 (with a suggested retail of $65) and was shown in fuchsia trimmed with white lace. The Flora Babydoll, in the same fabric, comes in black with white lace, white, light blue with white lace, light pink with white lace and denim blue with white lace. The wholesale price is $24 with a suggested retail of $60.

There are short and long versions of the Sophia chemise. The short version ($36 wholesale/$80 retail) comes in cerise, grey or black. The long version ($32 wholesale/$70 wholesale) comes in teal, grey or black. Both are 91% modal and 9% spandex.

The Flora Robe, in a combination of 48% cotton, 48% modal and 4% spandex, is available in five lace-trimmed color versions: light blue, cobalt, fuchsia, light pink and white. It wholesales for $42 with a suggested retail price of $95.

The Flora Girlshort in 95% modal, 5% spandex and lace trimmed at waist and legs, comes in black, white, nude, black with white lace, cobalt, light pink, light blue, grey and lavender. Wholesale price is $10 with a suggested retail of $25. The Bella Thong in 91% modal, 9% spandex, comes in white, nude, black, light blue and light pink, with a wholesale price of $7 and a suggested retail of $16. The Bella seamless thong ($8/$18) and seamless full panty ($10/$24) are both offered only in black or nude.

Interviewed at her booth at Curve, Fondot said she has had the Nantucket shop for about ten years. While a number of brands are offered, most of the business is focused on such labels as Christine Design, Cosabella, eberjey, Hanky Panky, Natori and Wacoal.
