Fantasy Lingerie is introducing a new CURVE plus size collection of boxed lingerie in packaging that is “consistent with our other category offerings,” such as its TEASE and VIXEN collections, “which makes visually merchandising most effective,” according to an e-mail from Primrose Boon, a sales executive at the firm. The new line will be available in March.

The CURVE collection is different because “We offer specific designs made for the curvy woman and tailored to better accentuate her physique.” For example, “style P104 features shirred side panels along this trendy teal chemise,” that are designed to flatter the larger woman. Style P100, in blush pink with detachable garters, is designed with “long lines to lengthen the figure,” while other “silhouettes include empire waistlines and bra top babydoll styles, all flattering silhouettes for a plus sized woman.”

Boon wrote that most of the designs in the new group are exclusive to Fantasy, adding that “Fit is key” for the plus sized consumer. “We help define the wearer’s shape through flattering designs in our CURVE collection.” The firm has been producing plus size lingerie “for over 20 years,” she reminded retailers.

Emphasis has been made to make the new collection both modern looking and attractive to a younger customer. “A lot of our customers are asking for modern pieces,” explained the sales executive, adding that plus “is not targeted to a specific age market—it is a sized market. Most brands consider larger sizes as an older/aged consumer. It is very important to keep up with modern trends and fit to make a fashionable statement. Our customers are looking to entice and seduce, not to look matronly. More color and a youthful look is requested—and CURVE by Fantasy Lingerie provides this with affordable quality.”

Wholesale prices for the new line range from $12 to $16, with the suggested retail prices ranging from $24 to $40. Sizes currently include S/M and M/L and will soon be expanded to include 1X, 2X, and 3X. Many styles include under wires and molded cups as well as a variety of colors. Minimum orders for the new collection start at $100 for domestic orders and $300 for international orders.
