(Filed Under wholesale Clubwear News). Forplay continues to expand its new BLVD collection of sexy dresses, and we present a first look at some of management’s favorite styles for 2013. The company introduced the new label last summer with a group of about 60 dresses, all of them featuring substantially lower prices than the company has offered in the past, most $12 to $16 wholesale, with a few more elaborate styles a bit higher.

Forplay cofounder Lou Rahim explained at the time that the line offers “the same quality, same Forplay fit, and the same fabrics at half the price,” a concept he said was made possible by the increasing volume of the company’s dress business. BLVD dresses are unquestionably sexy, often revealing one or several parts of the anatomy, but without making the wearer feel completely naked. Another way to look at it is almost any confident young woman will find a dress that highlights her one or more of her best assets.

At the time of the introduction, Rahim promised another 160 styles would be added. And here they come, in a wide assortment of sexy and imaginative combinations. Greg Gubner, who handles sales BLVD, described some of his favorites in a recent e-mail. “Our designers are really coming up with some great items, that we know are going to be huge hits!,” he declared.”

Listing some of his 2013 favorites Gubner began with style 883814, “a sexy color blocked Forplay mini dress equipped with a sexy chest mesh inset and keyhole cutout on back side with button closure. Fabricated in Techno Scuba, this Forplay style offers structure, support, and the perfect amount of stretch.” Style 883508 is a “brand new dress based on a best-selling 2012 Forplay style in a new color way! This Forplay mini dress offers the ever so flattering waist color contrast and peplum with invisible zipper fasten. Also made of Scuba fabric, this style has an impeccable fit.” These and other 2013 styles are pictured at right.

Gubner said a new style for 2013, 883811, offers “the popular fabric contrasting trend seen all over the fashion world” and includes “mesh insets on the chest and sides [providing] equal amounts of style and sex appeal.” Style 883821, he continued, “is a snug fitting body con mini with tiny elastic straps on the shoulders and also lining the sides of the dress allowing sexy skin exposure. This dress is offered in the BLVD collection in four additional color ways.”

The sales manager said that style 883839, is “a metallic halter jumpsuit with plunging neckline perfect for any season. Also offered in an alternative color way in the BLVD collection, this style is timeless and ideal for many occasions. Offering versatility, this look can be dressed up for the nightclub, or down for an intimate dinner and a laid back lounge. Women love versatility!” Yet another favorite is style 883822, which he describe as “a fully lined sequin mini dress similar to a top selling Forplay style last year. This gorgeous dress features a plunging neckline and ¾ sleeves. This elaborate number is also offered in two alternate color ways in the BLVD collection.” Tel: (626) 277-4488.
