New NILIT Breeze Yarn Claims Cooling Effect

(Filed Under Textiles News). NILIT, a global producer of nylon 6.6, is now offering its NILIT Breeze (patent pending) specialty yarn as a performance fiber for sportswear, hosiery, underwear, shapewear, socks, outerwear and work wear.

Available in specially textured and flat nylon 6.6 yarns, NILIT Breeze fabrics “have been proven to cool wearers by almost one degree Celsius in comparison to fabrics knitted with standard fibers,” according to the announcement. “The yarn’s cooling effect comes from a special cross-section, the insertion of an inorganic additive in the polymer itself and a unique texturing process,“ claims the firm. “This combination gives fabrics very efficient ventilation capabilities and UV protective properties. As a result, garments made with NILIT Breeze keep the wearer more comfortable during and after physical exertion.” In addition to applications for activewear, “NILIT Breeze brings shapewear and hosiery to the next level. Products made with NILIT Breeze are soft, flexible, smooth and fit the body’s contours to move with the wearer. They also provide comfort, control and elegance by keeping the wearer cool in the heat of summer.”

“Always at the forefront of textile technology, we at NILIT are constantly striving to produce high-quality yarns with added consumer benefits,“ declared Michal Ron Gavish, global marketing manager. “NILIT Breeze is a perfect example. With its innovative cooling effect and soft feel, NILIT Breeze is the perfect solution for today’s sports garments, hosiery and shapewear.” Independent testing was performed by the Centexbel textile research center. A copy of the certificate is available upon request from NILIT.

NILIT Ltd. is a privately owned company with headquarters in Israel and offices in Italy, the United States, Germany, France, Latin America, Asia Pacific, and Suzhou, China. The firm produces nylon 6.6 and microfiber yarns in a broad selection of dtex and filament counts, luster levels, and types of cross-sections. NILIT’s yarns are used for knitwear, wovenwear and spandex covering applications for the production of legwear, bodywear, intimate apparel and activewear.
