(Filed Under Wholesale Swimwear News). Nardis Beach, the high end swim label in the UK, has just launched an online boutique. Previously, during its first four seasons, the company had sold its bathing suits and cover-ups through luxury boutiques worldwide.
Nardis is designed by Cristiana Carwardine using Italian textiles and “hand-made semi-precious trims.” On the new online shop, prices range from £70 to £165 ($108 to $254) for bikinis, from £95 to £98 ($147 to $151) for one-piece suits and from £147 to £165 ($227 to $254) for cover-ups. According to the company, “The beautiful and colorful trims used to embellish the garments are hand-crafted in Italy, using natural materials, sourced and mined or salvaged from the beach following environmentally responsible guidelines. These materials come from as far away as South Asia, the Pacific Islands, South America and Africa, and include shells, topaz, red agathe, palm wood, malachite and green quartz.”
The firm amusingly describes its production thusly: “the beachwear is completed to the highest possible quality, by suppliers around the world. The manufacturing takes place in Europe using materials sourced both locally and beyond.”
The 2012 collections “bring together inspiration from four beautiful places, Salybia Beach in Trinidad, Anse Cocos on the Seychellois Island of La Digue, the V olcanic beach of Lovina in Bali and the stunning white city of Ostuni in Italy.” The site is www.nardisbeach.com.
