(Filed Under Event News). Managers of the “Taste of OFFPRICE” show, held May 6-8, 2012 in Manhattan’s Gotham Hall, reported buyer attendance “consistent with its 2011 numbers,” according to show management. The show is in its third consecutive year; attendance jumped 12 percent from 2010 to 2011. Actual attendance numbers were not reported.
“It’s exciting to see so many first time buyers attend the show,” declared Stephen Krogulski, CEO of OFFPRICE. “We’re confident in new buyers discovering that just one find at OFFPRICE can increase their store’s profit margins by a significant amount. Having a presence at market week in New York has been extremely beneficial to buyers and exhibitors.”
The May show had 65 exhibitors with buyers using the event “as a temperature check of their current allotment of products,” according to a show spokesperson. “They come to OFFPRICE in May to smooth out inventories, purchase immediate goods, and get an early jump on Back-To-School apparel.” Overall, the show claims pricing is “20-70 percent below wholesale prices.”
The main, larger show will be held in Las Vegas August 19-22. The OFFPRICE Shows and Publications are produced by Tarsus Group plc, an international media group with interests in exhibitions, conferences, publishing and the internet. Headquartered in Dublin, with offices in London, Paris, Shanghai and Milwaukee, Tarsus serves niche markets with trade events and online media.
