(Filed Under wholesale Activewear News). Lyssé, a company that started in 2010 offering a wide selection of leggings, is now launching a four-piece “FIT” activewear collection. The new styles feature the brand’s four-way stretch and control panel as well as grommet detailing in three legging styles – flare ($62 retail), tight ankle ($60) and capri ($56), and a coordinating tank ($42).
Made of 95 percent nylon and 5 percent spandex, and utilizing the Lyssé (pronounced Li-SAY) four-way stretch, hidden control panel, the pants eliminate what the company calls “the roll” and “lend a streamlined appearance with unexpected comfort and control,” according to a spokesperson. The FIT line is designed to “seamlessly transition from ‘work’ to ‘workout.’”
“Fashionistas who have come to expect Lyssé Leggings effortlessly sleek, sexy, look will find the new fitwear styles become their favorite go-to pieces for relaxed dressing that goes from casual daywear to functional activewear perfect for running, yoga, dancing and anything in between.”
Lyssé Leggings were created by Beth Gold-Cohen, a former buyer and merchandise manager for Macy’s NY, who started with “shapewear legging,” then expanded her selection of body-slimming fashions. She had gained weight while battling breast cancer. “At that time, none of my jeans or stretch leggings fit,” she said. “Then one day I had a flash of inspiration -- I took one of my control top undergarments and sewed it to a pair of leggings. Suddenly, not only did the leggings fit perfectly, but they felt comfortable and smooth!”
Previously, she noted, “No matter what brand and price, each pair of leggings created an omnipresent ‘muffin top’ by the waistband.”
According to the company, Lyssé products are now available in such stores as Nordstrom, Bloomindale’s, Lord & Taylor, Dillard’s, Von Maur, Bare Necessities, Freshpair.com, Anthropologie and a variety of smaller retailers.
