(Filed Under wholesale Lingerie News). One of several new lingerie companies that debuted at MAGIC (February 13-15) was Solokoff Lingerie, a sophisiticated, higher-priced brand. The Montreal-based company was launched six months ago and sells in such stores, in its home city, as Mimi and Coco, Les Haut es Les Bas and Unicorn.

“Our philosophy is to bring new fashion lingerie” to the market, explained designer Sofia Sokoloff. Originally she expected her customer to be “the young, very feminine, trendy girl in Montreal,” but said that many older women also find the bras particularly comfortable, which has expanded the customer base beyond what had been anticipated.

Panties retail for $20 to $30, the bras for $60 to $80. Bras range in size from 32 to 36, A to D. All are made in Montreal by a local manufacturer. There is no minimum order.

Much of the small collection is made of 80% nylon, 20% spandex,

Designer Sokoloff said she is currently developing a collection of loungewear.
