(Filed Under Textiles News). La Lame, a manufacturer of specialty fabrics and yarn, is launching new fabrics for 2009.
Following the success of the soft, washed finish in the matte foil, La Lame has launched a new version in an unwashed hand for a shinier finish, said the company.
Both foils are stocked in New York and “are popular with the swimwear, sportswear, dress and accessories market,” said Joel Goldfarb, the vice president of sales and creativity.
In addition, La Lame is introducing a new exclusive process of yarn dye plaids and checks that can be done on the base cloth. “The customer can get a wide range of colors without the expense of the mill,” said Goldfarb.
For the price conscious customer, the company is also launching a new collection of silk/cotton blends from Asia in prints and solids. Whereas for the “elite one-of-a-kind customer” La Lame has introduced a new line of fine, better quality fabrics to add to their line of fine lace fabrics, which is made in France and were recently shown at the Premiére Vision show in Paris this month.
“With the dollar getting a little stronger, the transition from Euros to USA dollars is adding to the demand for this group,” said Goldfarb.
All fabrics and more are available at the New York showroom.
