(Filed Under Financial and General Interest News). According to a release from the U.S. Census Bureau, seasonally adjusted retail sales of apparel, footwear and accessories in December 2011 rose 0.7 percent from the prior month and 5.8 percent from December 2010.
Retail sales at general merchandise stores, spanning from discount retailers like Walmart and Target to full-price department stores, dropped 0.4 percent from November, but jumped 6.8 percent when compared to December 2010.
