(Filed Under Financial and General Interest News). Limited Brands, Inc., the parent company of Victoria’s Secret and Canadian lingerie chain La Senza, reported a sales increase of 7 percent for the five weeks ended Dec. 31, 2011.
The company reported net sales of $1.87 billion, compared to sales of $1.79 billion for the five weeks ended Jan. 1, 2011. Same-store sales were up 10 percent for the year, with 2011’s net sales coming to $9.95 billion, up dramatically from $8.84 billion in 2010.
The company is increasing its fourth quarter earning guidance based on these results. Earnings per share are now expected to reach a range of $1.42 to $1.46, up from its previous guidance of $1.28 to $1.43 and last year’s earning of $1.26 per share.
Limited Brands, Inc. currently operates 2,639 stores in the U.S. and more than 600 company-owned and franchised locations worldwide.
