(Filed Under Textiles News). RadiciGroup will be exhibiting its latest textile products at the Heimtextil trade show on Jan. 11 to 14 in Frankfurt, Germany.
In addition to showing some of its latest fabric innovations, RadiciGroup is allowing customers to design their own yarns, choosing thread count, luster, color, quantity and additives like UV, flame or bacterial resistance.
"It is of fundamental importance to focus on developing technologies and products that meet specific customer requests," said Roberto Parenzan of RadiciGroup. "We have recently introduced eco-compatible materials, such as CornLeaf yarn made with a 100 percent renewable vegetable source material, and polyester yarn produced from post-consumer recycled polymer."
The recycled polymer yarn is sold under the name r-Starlight and will be a main focus for the RadiciGroup at Heimtextil. The yarn is created by shredding recycled bottles, processed into granular form and used to produce fibers which can then be spun into yarns of various weights, counts, colors and lusters. The CornLeaf yarn is made with solution dyes and antimicrobial agents that result in a product that is fully biodegradable, lightweight and UV-resistant. Additionally, the new Starlight feel textile line incorporates a silver microcompound that results in more advanced colorfastness, odor resistance and antimicrobal properties.
RadiciGroup is an Italy-based global fibers conglomerate with annual sales of over $1.5 billion and production plants and offices worldwide.
