(Filed Under wholesale Hosiery News). United Legwear Company along with activewear giant Puma have announced that Puma North America has acquired a 51 percent stake in United Legwear’s Puma legwear and bodywear subsidiary.
The joint venture is doing business as Puma Legwear and Bodywear, with United Legwear remaining the managing member of the partnership. United Legwear Company LLC remains privately owned by president and C.E.O. Isaac Ash and will continue to design, manufacture, distribute and sell Puma brand socks and apparel in the United States under the direction of Puma North America.
"As a licensor, Puma has always been a supportive and collaborative partner," stated Ash. "With this new joint venture structure, United Legwear Company will continue to strengthen our business partnership and help grow the Puma brand strategically in our categories."
United Legwear Company was founded in 1998 and operates several additional legwear licenses, including Skechers, Fisher-Price, Isaac Mizrahi and Happy Socks.
