(Filed Under wholesale Costume News). For the 2012 Halloween season, Delicious Sexywear of New York is continuing its focus on classic costume looks that rise above the rest due to their innovative cuts and detailing, excellent fit and premium fabrics and trim.
"We study fashion trends and take elements like ruching, keyholes and different necklines and backlines and incorporate them into our line," said Patty Gatto, national sales manager for Delicious Sexywear. "The fit is where we want it to be. We’ve had almost no returns from retailers due to fit and quality."
Costumes include new ladybug and bee styles, while the company is expanding the colors and styles of perennial favorites like gangsters, flappers, Greek goddesses and feline looks to include colors like scarlet and platinum, which lend the costumes a more upscale appearance. Moulin Rouge and Marie Antoinette-inspired French styles have exquisite details like dramatic puffy sleeves and corsets with shape-enhancing boning and padding. Delicious also noted the importance of including accessories with select styles, such as the vintage "cigarette girl" look that comes with a hat, gloves and a wearable cigarette vending box, while a black mesh and lamé full-body catsuit boasts ears, a tail and a collar.
When it comes to the top styles, licensed Playboy looks continue to top Delicious Sexywear’s bestsellers list, while non-licensed favorites include a sexy cop and a Nemo-inspired clownfish dress. The company’s black flapper dress was its third most popular look, but BODY Magazine noted that the same fringe-layered dress looked even more elegant in rich fuchsia and platinum hues.
Delicious Sexywear of New York is a division of Rubie’s Costume Company, Inc.
