(Filed Under wholesale Costume News). One of the most innovative trends at the International Halloween Show in New York City was the debut of Raveware’s shaping Halloween costumes, aimed at women who want a revealing, sexy costume for the holiday, but who may be limited by size or self-consciousness.
"It’s a unique item in that no one is doing it yet," said Raveware president Sean Monahan. "Body shapewear is built into a costume, eliminating the need to wear shapewear underneath."
The introductory collection encompasses classic Halloween looks, including a cop, a witch, a pirate, a devil, a bee, a ladybug, a French maid, a Greek goddess, a schoolgirl, a military style, a lion tamer, Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White and Dorothy from "The Wizard of Oz." Sizes range from S to 3X and, when put on, can make the wearer two to three dress sizes smaller. Wholesale prices will start at about $40 with a retail range of $69 to $79.
"The goal with these costumes is to let a whole range of women be the life of the party and make everyone jealous of them," Monahan told BODY.
U.S. retailers must place a $100 minimum order with Raveware, while international orders require $300 minimum. Raveware is based in Northridge, Calif.
