(Filed Under retail Lingerie News). Leading U.S. lingerie retailer Victoria’s Secret has opened its first store in British Columbia, Canada at the Vancouver International Airport.
Located in the U.S. terminal, the 795-square-foot store focuses on beauty and accessory products including perfumes and soaps, makeup, handbags and sunglasses. Intimate apparel is also available in the form of a "panty bar," which holds up to 5,000 pairs of the retailer’s underwear styles.
Vancouver International Airport’s retail operators concluded that the brand would be a good fit for the 4.1 million travelers who pass through the terminal each year, most of whom are British Columbia residents under the age of 44 who earn more than $50,000 a year, according to airport demographic statistics.
Victoria’s Secret is owned by Columbus, Ohio-based Limited Brands, Inc.
