(Filed Under Wholesale Swimwear News). Beverly Hills-based Le Doux, has introduced a new swimwear collection for the 2009 season featuring fairy tale and character-inspired designs.

According to Juliana Renz, co-founder of the company along with mother Marly Renz, the inspirations for the new collection came from some of her and Marly's favorite tales: Alice in Wonderland, The Addams Family and Vitória Régia (an Amazonian fairy tale about a water lily that blooms white, with beautiful changing colors – from pink to lavender – as the sun sets). In fact, the 2009 lookbook is set up as a fairy tale book including a preface, three chapters and a prologue.

The collection has an extensive range in a variety of fabrics including some bamboo blends and it offers dresses, cover-ups, T-shirts, shorts, tunics, leggings, one-piece swimsuits, bikinis and monokinis.

The "Alice" line is done in playful and bright prints and colors such as turquoise, white, pink, polka dots, stripes and checkers. Hand-embellishments include Le Doux's signature bows, flowers and hearts.

The "Morticia" line is a "more urban collection" inspired by Morticia's dark sense of humor and sex appeal. Black is a predominant color on textured fabrics. It is also hand-embellished with crystals, chains, lace and embroidery.

The "Vitória Régia" line represents key nature-inspired elements in the story through the use of eco-friendly materials, textured and tie-dyed fabrics in colors of silver, gold, lavender, white, brown, green, yellow, purple and black. The line is hand-embellished with crystals, feathers, embroidery and foil.

Swimsuits and bikinis are available in sizes extra small through large, in Brazilian (less fabric) or American cuts and are manufactured at the company's own manufacturing facility in Brazil.

The entire collection retails at a range of $95 to $435 and is at a wholesale range of $38 to $174.

Even though the collection is based on fairy tales, Juliana claims "I think the collection looks a little more grown up this year. I think it's a trend in the marketplace. Swim has become more glamorous."

Le Doux's swimwear has been seen on the likes of Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez, Kim Kardashian, Nicky Hilton, Drew Barrymore and Evangeline Lilly. Products may be purchased at stores such as Saks Fifth Avenue and at boutiques across the U.S., Brazil, Europe and Middle East.
