(Filed Under Financial and General Interest News). Following an increase of 2 percent in May, Swedish retail chain Hennes & Mauritz AB reported that same-store sales were down 4 percent for the month of June.
June 2010 saw the retailer posting a 9 percent rise in same-store sales and a 20 percent increase in sales in local currencies. This year, sales in local currencies increased 5 percent, down from May, when they went up 12 percent.
H&M has notably increased the number of stores operating from one year ago, with 2,305 at the end of June and 2,062 stores operating June 30, 2010.
