(Filed Under Wholesale Swimwear News). New York-based swimwear company Breaking Waves International has purchased swimwear brand It Figures.

It Figures, produced by Patricia Byrnes and Ronnie Strausser with Canada-based manufacturing partner Phantom Industries, was established in May 1996 and became available to Breaking Waves after Byrnes and Strausser decided to part ways.

"The name was sold to Breaking Waves," Alex Strausser of Phantom Industries stated. "Phantom Industries will stop producing It Figures for retailers like QVC and close the division in Canada at the end of this July 2011. Phantom Industries will continue to produce our own label of swimwear called Dolfin based in Pennsylvania."

Breaking Waves International, LLC is located at 1411 Broadway in New York City’s fashion district.
