(Filed Under wholesale Maternity News). Destination Maternity Corporation announced Thursday that it has hired Chris Daniel, formally of Hot Topic’s Torrid division, as president.

Daniels, who will begin his employment with the maternity apparel corporation on June 1, worked for Hot Topic from 2004 until April 29, serving as president of Torrid from 2006 until his departure.

"Chris has significant experience leading women’s fashion apparel brands and has had great experience in serving a niche customer demographic in a specialty retailing environment through his Torrid leadership position," Ed Krell, C.E.O of Destination Maternity, said in a statement. "Chris brings to Destination Maternity a great skill set as a customer-focused retail executive with deep merchandising experience."

Destination Maternity is a wholesale maternity company and retailer with approximately 1,725 stores under the A Pea in the Pod, Destination Maternity and Motherhood Maternity brand names. Retailers carrying its labels include Kohl’s; Sears; Kmart; Macy’s; Bloomingdale’s; BabiesRUs; Boscov’s; and Gordmans.
