(Filed Under Wholesale Swimwear News). Driven by boosts in swimwear and shapewear, Leonisa cited a 40 percent sales increase for the first quarter of 2011 over last year’s first quarter.
The company, which has U.S. offices in Norcross, GA., reported that new swimwear styles incorporating control and comfort have sold particularly well. They are available at Tootsies in Houston, Tex., among other specialty stores.
In shapewear, the newly launched Capri Compression Bodyshaper in powernet microfiber has become a top-seller, Leonisa said, adding that the Open Bust Minimizer Short with neo-latex is also popular.
Also new this year is the Moderate Lift Hiphugger in microfiber with removable pads, and 10 push-bras in spring/summer shades.
Leonisa has more than 50 years of intimate apparel design experience, and prides itself on making 93 percent of its product line in-house.
