(Filed Under Fashion News). Rodrigo Cano of Julie France is the self-proclaimed first and founding member of the Retailer Protection Society of America, "dedicated to the protection and promotion of independent apparel retailers across America."
Cano, whose firm sells shapewear, dancewear and other intimate apparel, said: "today, independent intimate apparel retailers are under assault from the sales and marketing strategies of many wholesalers and manufacturers. Are you one of them? Where do you stand on the issue of protecting the independent retailer?"
Cano’s plan for the Retailer Protection Society is to form a group of concerned and supportive wholesalers who, for example, do not sell directly to consumers and who take other positive steps to support independent intimates retailers. Retailers would then be encouraged to buy only from those wholesalers who are members of this society.
Cano challenges wholesalers and manufacturers to take his test on the issue ( Take the test here >> ). Those wholesalers who agree with these statements, and come out on the side of the independent retailers, could be asked to join the society.
says:
I strongly believe manufacturers should not sell directly to the consumers because this practice destroys the retail stores.
