(Filed Under wholesale Shapewear News). Plié, a shapewear brand based in Sao Paulo, Brazil, reported a 45 percent growth during 2010.
According to Ron Horovitz, managing director, the company achieved this growth by implementing an aggressive expansion strategy to handle Brazil’s rapidly growing consumer market. “Right now we’re investing heavily in production capacity and in our export partnerships to guarantee Plié’s place in all markets during these complicated times,” he said. “We see Plié as a complement to everything a woman wears during the day time, at leisure and in the evening. As Plié garments ‘breathe,’ they can be worn with the same comfort in the gym as in the office so we need women to see the Plié name in lots of different retail outlets.”
The company, which was founded in 2000, reported that it has a presence in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. It launched Plié Europe in 2005, which is headed by managing director Elemar Souza Cruz and sales and marketing director John Pearce. The company’s control range, launched in 2006, now encompasses 18 bodyshapers.
