(Filed Under wholesale Hosiery News). Philips-Van Heusen Corporation and Basic Resources Inc.’s USA Legwear division have entered into a licensing agreement for socks that extends through 2014.
Under the agreement, USA Legwear will market and distribute men and boy’s dress, casual and athletic socks under the Van Heusen name. The product line will include single and multi-pack options that incorporate Van Heusen branding.
Allen Sirkin, president and C.O.O. of Philips-Van Heusen described the expansion as a fitting product progression. “As we continued to seek ways to grow the Van Heusen product line, we naturally came upon hosiery as a great fit with our own underwear and dress furnishing offerings,” he said. “Basic Resources has extensive knowledge and experience in this product category and we look forward to having them on the Van Heusen licensee tea to develop and grow this business in a profitable and effective way.”
Philips-Van Heusen, the world’s largest shirt and necktie company, markets a variety of goods under the Van Heusen; Calvin Klein; Tommy Hilfiger; IZOD; ARROW; Bass; and G.H. Bass & Co. names. Its licensed brands include Geoffrey Beene; Kenneth Cole New York; DKNY; Timberland; and others.
