(Filed Under wholesale Plus Size News). Curvy Kate, a British maker of bras in sizes 28 to 44, D through K for the 18 to 30-year-old market, reported that sales increased 400 percent during its second year of operations.
The London-based company, which launched in July 2009, said that over 500 retailers now carry the brand worldwide in 10 countries including Australia, France, Canada, Germany and Greece. During its first six months of operation, approximately 100 stores picked up the brand.
“We have been overwhelmed by the response to the brand,” said Steve Hudson, managing director of Curvy Kate. “It seems we are offering the right product at the right time, despite the economic climate. It has been a busy and hectic two years for everyone involved in the business but nonetheless an extremely rewarding start.”
In growth plans, Curvy Kate’s is targeting the United States, Russia and other markets, as well as developing a non-transactional website, CRM system and social media strategy.
Curvy Kate bras retail from £27.50 to £29: equivalent to approximately $44 to $47 at the current exchange rate.
