(Filed Under Event News). Although attendance was similar to last year, with CurveNV at 1,917 buyers and CurveNY at 2,219, CurvExpo said the mood was up at both shows and buyers came ready to write.
According to the organizing company, international buyer attendance at CurveNV (Feb. 14-16) increased to 15.53 percent from 10 percent last February, with retailers from Canada, Mexico, Australia and Japan, among other countries, seen. In New York (Feb. 21-23) they estimated that international buyer attendance increased to 13.18 percent from 8 percent last year.
In addition to specialty stores, CurvExpo noted that Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Dillards, Amazon and Zappos attended CurveNV, and Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale’s and Macy’s shopped at CurveNY.
The company also noted that 38 new brands exhibited at CurveNV and 30 exhibited at CurveNY. Among these were Beach Bunny Swimwear, La Perla, MalgoMargo and Liloubelle, a new “green” brand made by New York City-based Parlak Parlak.
The next CurveNY show is scheduled for July 31 through August 2, followed by CurveNV from August 22 through 24. Both will welcome the “Beach Shop,” a section dedicated exclusively to swimwear and resort brands.
