(Filed Under Fashion News). Susan Feldman, Dreamgirl’s senior vice president of merchandising and design since November 2010, is thrilled to be working with such a successful company.
“[Dreamgirl is] a leader in both the costume and lingerie industries,” she said. “Their exciting design ideas, innovations and fashion-forward creativity have created an excitement about the company that has translated into strong growth, even during these difficult economic times.”
Feldman brings 20 years of experience to Dreamgirl, including senior management positions with both public and private companies. Notably, she was president of Kellwood’s LA Intimates, vice president of merchandising, private label, for Warnaco Swimwear and senior vice president of merchandising and sales for Biatta Intimates.
“[I bring to Dreamgirl] the knowledge I gained from my past positions, my experience of working within all channels of distribution, the understanding of the ultimate customer at each retail tier and the strategies required for a seasonal business,” she said. “[I also come with] the excitement and passion I believe I bring to every project. I love this business, I will never tire of the opportunity to bring a fresh twist to the product and the ultimate consumer her reason to buy!”
Since beginning the position, Feldman and her team have been working on the adult costume line for 2012, as well as expanding the Sugar Sugar line for girls and tweens into the toddler and boys markets. She added: “In lingerie we are very busy with the development of our 2012 collection, creating a beautifully merchandised assortment drawing from all the new and exciting color palettes from the runway shows. We are also developing a new boxed lingerie program for the more contemporary customer at compelling price points. We will continue to build on our successes, expanding our beautiful hanging lingerie collection to also include some value price points. At the same time, we are expanding our ‘playful’ fetish assortments to capture everyone’s fantasies!”
Overall, Feldman described working with Dreamgirl as “a dream come true. This is a company with a vision that inspires creativity and supports an atmosphere of camaraderie and team work. I couldn’t imagine a better place to be.”
