(Filed Under wholesale Lingerie News). Jesus Fernandez, an Argentinean manufacturer of retro-inspired, handcrafted lingerie, drew from French influences of the last century in designing its latest collection, Couture Corseterie.
The collection encompasses bras, panties, bustiers, babydolls and other silhouettes made from Italian and French satin, embroideries and jacquards accented by a floral tulle, satin and black lace pattern. Styles are available in French sizing 85 to 105, equivalent to 32A t0 36D. They retail from approximately $79 to $159.
Debbie King, owner of Vancouver-based Intrigue Imports, the North American distributor of Jesus Fernandez, described Couture Corseterie as “sexy yet comfortable,” with signature looks including miniature ribbon embellishments, adjustable thongs and panties with garters. “Don’t let the masculine name fool you-this is one of the most feminine lines you will find,” she said.
King, then an importer of jewelry and other accessories, discovered the high-end yet obscure brand’s boutique while on a tango dancing trip in Buenos Aires two years ago. “I loved the window display and stopped in to buy some of their beautiful pieces for myself,” she said. “I went back for a second time to talk to the owner, and we came up with the idea of bringing the brand to Canada.”
Currently, specialty stores in Vancouver carry Jesus Fernandez, including the boutique FROST.
