(Filed Under Financial and General Interest News). The TJX Companies Inc. announced several executive promotions as part of its leadership planning process.
Carol Meyrowitz has entered into a two-year employment agreement to continue as C.E.O and director. The off-price department store retailer has promoted Ernie Herrman to president of TJX from his post as senior executive vice president, group president.
TJX has also promoted Nan Stutz to senior executive vice president, group president of HomeGoods and TJX Canada, and Michael MacMillan to senior executive vice president, group president, in which he will continue to oversee The Maramaxx Group, the TJX division that operates T.J. Maxx and Marshalls. Both will report to Herrman.
“One my key responsibilities as C.E.O is to see that the company has an effective, seamless leadership succession in place,” Meyrowitz said in a statement. “This new structure is an important step in that regard. It will permit me over time to delegate more of the day-to-day responsibilities and reduce my overall time commitment, while retaining responsibility for all executive functions and continuing to lead this great company.”
TJX operates over 2,700 stores, including T.J. Maxx, Marshalls and HomeGoods in the United States.
