(Filed Under Financial and General Interest News). R.G. Barry, the accessory and slipper marketer that produces Dearfoams, announced Friday that it has acquired Foot Petals, LLC for $14 million.
R.G. Barry said it has acquired substantially all of the assets of Foot Petals, which develops insoles and other comfort solutions, and will operate it as a subsidiary. The company’s senior management will discuss the acquisition during its regular quarterly earnings teleconference/webcast on February 8.
“As the innovator and leader of premium insoles, Foot Petals is an excellent addition to our brand portfolio,” said Greg Tunney, president and C.E.O of R.G. Barry. “It is a growing business that generates very healthy returns. Its management team, led by Tina Aldatz, is young, aggressive and has done an amazing job building a successful, category-leading business in less than a decade.”
Aldatz founded Foot Petals in 2001 after noticing a void in the marketplace for comfortable insoles that could be worn with high heels.
In addition to Dearfoams and Foot Petals, R.G. Barry makes slippers and other footwear under Terrasoles and licensed an private label trademarks, including Nautica, Levi’s and Superga.
