(Filed Under wholesale Classic Slippers/Shoes News). Aussie Dogs, a company that makes sheepskin slippers and fashion footwear, has hired Julie Marconi as the director of global sales and marketing, the company announced in mid-January.
Marconi brings 11 years of experience to her position, the company said. She most recently worked as director of marketing for OC Weekly, an Orange County, Calif.-based publication owned by The Village Voice.
According to the 21-year-old company, Marconi is responsible for diversifying sales outreach, evaluating new business opportunities and providing and providing a varied line-up of fashion-forward options to meet the demands of retailers. Aussie dogs has sales representatives nationwide, and can be found in specialty boutiques, including Billabong in Shrewsbury, N.J., Arabelle in Brandford, Conn. and Alexandra Boutique in Grosse Pointe, M.I., among others.
Marconi’s plans include spearheading Aussie Dog’s entrance in the global market. “With a new foundation of domestic and international sales plans for 2011, I foresee endless expansion opportunities for the company. I have begun working closely with the team at Aussie Dogs to best implement a brand-loyal sales program to complement both their superior quality craftsmanship and the new direction of fashion footwear.”
