(Filed Under Financial and General Interest News). Target Corporation has appointed Tony Fisher president of its newly formed Canada division, the company announced Tuesday.
Fisher has worked for Target since 1999, most recently as vice president of merchandise operations, a position he has held since last year. In his new position, he will be charged with building the Target Canada team, establishing the headquarters and leading day-to-day operations.
As previously reported by BODY, Target announced last week that it has acquired leasehold interests in approximately 200 Zellers stores throughout Canada, and plans to open 100 to 150 Target stores starting in 2013. This is the company’s first venture outside of the United States.
Target Corp. currently operates 1,752 stores in 49 states selling a range of products, including intimate apparel, hosiery, swimwear and activewear for men and women.
