(Filed Under wholesale Lingerie News). While Curvy Kate continued to focus on vibrant colors and trend-right designs for fall/winter 2011, the company also added a minimalistic touch for the season.
The British maker of bras for full-busted women is introducing a seamless, basic bra to complement a range of warm hues with names like deep grape, emerald, amethyst, vivid pink and ocean blues mixed with gold. As previously announced, all styles for the season run in sizes 28 to 40, D through K. The company added the D cup based on demand in Europe; previously, its bras started at a DD. Panties will continue to run in British sizes 8 to 22, equivalent to U.S. sizes 6 to 20.
Also new is the Lottie, a bra with a firm satin lower cup and floral lace embroidery on the upper cup. Sarah Greenwood, winner of De Mont Fort University’s 2010 project “Create a Curvy Kate,” designed the style.
Continuing with the embroidery theme, another new look is Romance, inspired by French Boudoir and vintage lace with its swirl detailing.
Curvy Kate bras and panties retail from approximately £5.30 to £30, equivalent to about $8 to $44 at the current exchange rate. According to the company, sales during its second year of operation doubled, and the label is now available in 500 stores worldwide and distributed in 12 countries, including Australia; Germany; Ireland; Israel; Sweden; and New Zealand. The company has expressed interest in entering the U.S. market.
