(Filed Under Financial and General Interest News). Nordstrom Inc. announced Tuesday that it plans to open a Nordstrom Rack in Lenexa, a suburb of Kansas City, Kan., marking its first store in the state.
The 34,925-square-foot location will be in the Orchard Corners shopping center and is slated to open in next fall. Orchard Corners is across the street from the Oak Park Mall, which houses a Nordstrom full-line store. Nordstrom Inc. often opens Rack stores in close proximity to full-line stores so that customers can easily shop at both.
“We are thrilled to be opening our first Nordstrom Rack in Kansas and looking forward to better serving our customers in the greater Kansas City area,” said Geevy Thomas, president of Nordstrom Rack. “This is a great location and we hope to make it more convenient for our customers to shop both our Nordstrom store and the Rack when we open this fall.”
Founded in 1901 in Seattle, Nordstrom Inc. currently operates 204 stores in 28 states, including 115 full-line stores, 86 Nordstrom Racks, two Jeffrey boutiques and one clearance store.
