(Filed Under Textiles News). In its Fall/Winter 2012-2013 trendbook, Nilit emphasizes the importance of keeping up with today’s increasingly discerning consumer.
“We can no longer separate design from innovation and both correspond to the needs of an increasingly well-informed consumer who is ever more demanding in terms of fashion, performance and comfort,” the Israeli textile manufacturer said. “The continued challenge of the bodywear market is to create products which are a skillful combination of aesthetics and innovation while providing both comfort and performance and enhancing the body.”
Nilit added that demand increases for technical fibers that are diverse, offer a light, soft feel and provide “a sense of well-being.” Consumers are also drawn toward eco-friendly products, the company said.
With these trends in mind, Nilit has included three bodywear and activewear trends for 2012-2013: Be Green, Be Sculptured and Be Dry.
Be Green encompasses retro-inspired lingerie and homewear with an “innocent sexy appeal” and rustic look. For this trend, Nilit recommended its EcoCare recycled yarns. In Be Sculptured, Nilit paid heed to the rapidly growing shapewear category as it evolves to encompass upgrades on 1950’s fashion, recommending its Innergy yarn.
For Be Dry, which includes high-performance activewear and breathable bodywear, Nilit recommended its Aquarius yarns for their moisture-wicking properties.
