(Filed Under wholesale Dancewear News). Four months after hiring Aileen Duke for part-time design support, Phoenix-based BodyZone Apparel has brought her on full-time.
Duke previously worked as an assistant designer for Los Angeles-based Trashy Lingerie, and graduated from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles. She reports to Viktoriya Koleva, the long-time head designer for BodyZone.
Ray Grden, president of the BodyZone, described Duke as an ideal addition to the team. “Her approach is very similar to how we approach things here at BodyZone,” he said. “She respects good design work, and people who follow through on what they say they will do. Viktoriya and her just clicked immediately and admire each other’s work.”
After moving from Los Angeles to Phoenix, Duke came across the job with BodyZone through the FIDM alumni network. “I’m so wholly elated,” she said about her new position. “I don’t think I’ve ever worked in a more pleasant environment, and they have such a cohesive design approach. Viktoriya has a great work ethic, and a zest for life to boot. She’s a joy to be around and a joy to work with.”
