(Filed Under Textiles News). The Lenzing Group, maker of man-made cellulose fibers including Tencel and Modal, will raise fiber prices by 10 percent for some products and more for others at the beginning of next year.
The company pointed to the rising costs of cotton and polyester since mid-year, adding that it has managed keep Modal and Tencel prices stable despite this trend. “Lenzing intends to pursue a balanced pricing policy in the interest of the long-term customer relationships also in the future. The company considers itself a reliable and predictable partner of all its customers throughout the textile value chain.”
A wide range of intimate apparel is made from fabrics with Tencel and Modal fibers, particularly underwear, sleepwear and loungewear.
