(Filed Under wholesale Socks News). Fox River Mills, a 110-year-old sock manufacturer, has hired Jennifer Whitley as brand manager.

The Osage, Iowa-based producer of performance socks said Whitley bring more than 23 years of outdoor industry experience to her new position, which she will begin immediately. The position is a transition for Whitley, who previously worked as an independent sales representative and buyer. Her duties will include driving marketing efforts to support the brand’s new packaging and winter products, set to release in January 2011.

“Jennifer’s 23 years of industry experience will give us great insight into minds of buyers and consumers, so we can continue to do what we do best-making the best performance socks at a fair price; a promise Fox River was founded on,” John Lessard, president of Fox River Mills, said.

Fox River produces just over 100 styles of casual, outdoor, work and military socks, among others, for men, women and children. The company’s trademarks are Fox River, Original Rockford Red Heel, Wick Dry and FoxSox. Retailers carrying the company’s brands include Abbey Rose in Big Bear Lake, Calif., Country Sport Inc. in Des Moines, Iowa and Rhinebeck Department Store in Rhinebeck, N.Y, among others.
