(Filed Under wholesale Lingerie News). In the interest of expanding its customer base beyond the clubwear market, Espiral has grown its AM/PM collection by 30 percent for this holiday season.
The company showed the line—which is designed to transition between clubwear and daywear—at last month’s ILS, which was held from September 27 through 29 at Las Vegas’ Rio Hotel. It encompasses about 50 styles and over 200 SKUs wholesaling from $8.95 to $22.95 and running in Espiral’s typical size range of S through XL.
According to Angela Escobar, co-owner of the Miami-based clubwear, dancewear and sexy costume company, AM/PM is appropriate for both adult and mainstream stores. Select boutiques in Spain have picked up the line, and Escobar anticipates that mainstream customers will also begin to carry it in the United States.
“We are targeting all kinds of women [with AM/PM],” Escobar said. “The collection is not just for the club scene; it is for any woman who wants to be noticed at work, during the day or at night. We’ve included many of the same dresses, tops and leggings that were so popular last season, and you will also see more garments that are perfect for that special holiday occasion.”
But despite its expansion into the mainstream market, Escobar was quick to add that the line has its place in the sexy adult store.
“In this economy, customers appreciate having different options in the same store. If you have a customer buying a lingerie piece, there is no reason why wouldn’t also want to buy a nice outerwear piece. This could make a store a one-stop shop,” she said.
Retailers carrying the AM/PM line include Yandy.com, Electrique Boutique in Dallas and Romantix stores.
Espiral was established approximately 10 years ago. Approximately 90 percent of its merchandise falls under the dancewear and clubwear categories.
